Hand Mending: Visible + Decorative Repair Techniques for Favorite Clothing on Saturday June 9

Gather up all of your favorite frayed, ripped, worn, and snagged jackets, jeans, socks, and sweaters! You know those pieces that you've been meaning to mend? Now is your chance!
During this group workshop, you will learn Sashiko/Boro style mends, basic needle and thread-based darning, and best practices for patching and repairing. You can practice stitches on scrap fabric provided, or jump right in on mending your own clothing.
Elizabeth will guide the group through various tools, materials, and solutions. She will offer help specific to the type of mend required. Everyone will try various stitches and learn how to choose techniques that will make a strong, long-lasting repair.
- No experience necessary.
- This class is open to ages 10+
- Tools and fabric will be provided. Please bring your own clothing to mend and any preferred patching fabric you may have.
- Refreshments will be served.
