Hosted by Clare Fox and Wayne Maki, from Mutual Adoration.

Sunday June 24th from 1 to 4pm

Join us for a fun afternoon of creating art pieces using reclaimed wood. During this 3 hour make & take workshop we’ll be constructing wall hangings with various types, colors, and configurations of wood. Get a glimpse behind the scenes of our wood shop and have fun with this creative project. Perfect for experimentation or build a piece to fit your color scheme at home. We’ll be chopping, gluing, nailing, and assembling wall hangings but no experience is needed!

Everyone will be creating their own unique piece with pattern, color, and texture. Mutual Adoration will provide all materials needed including frames and hanging hardware for each finished piece.

  • No experience necessary.

  • This class is open to ages 16+

  • All materials are provided.

  • Refreshments will be served.

About the instructors:

Clare Fox and Wayne Maki founded Mutual Adoration in 2013. Their furniture, frames, and housewares combine contemporary design and traditional craft. Clare’s background as a sculptor, printmaker, and design instructor drives their use color and collaborative nature. Wayne’s experience as a professional photographer combined with his technical talents inspire the precision and foundation of their small batch production. In 2017, they opened POST as home base for Mutual Adoration along with the retail shop and workshop space.

Please note:

Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little bit dirty. Sawdust, paint, and wood stain don't mix well with designer threads! Work gloves and safety glasses will be provided.

Space is limited so please register soon. Popular classes sell out quickly!

All workshops are held at POST - 14500 Kercheval Detroit, MI 48215
