Saturday July 14th from 11am to 2pm

Ever wonder how those amazing decorative textile bowls are created? In this class, we will learn the basics needed to make our own hand bound vessels out of rope, embroidery thread, yarn, and other fibers. These wrapping and knotting techniques can also be applied to other crafts.

You will leave with a handcrafted bowl of your own making and instructions to continue creating at home.

  • No experience necessary.

  • This class is open to ages 14+

  • All materials will be provided

  • Refreshments will be served.

About the instructor:

Erica Kane Fink holds a BFA specializing in Printmaking and Mixed Media Painting from the University of Michigan. Over the last decade, Fink has devoted her time to teaching art at after school & adult craft programs throughout the Bay Area, CA, Upstate, NY , Durham, NC and Ypsilanti, MI while developing collections of hand crafted home goods, jewelry and paintings which she sells to retail shops and galleries nationwide. Her unique style, easily recognized by its creative use of color and patterns, explores themes of nostalgia, family, and home.

POST Workshop Rules:

Please arrive on time or a little early to settle in and look around before the class begins.

All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to the workshop. POST assumes no liability for accidents or injuries. Create at your own risk.

Please let us know if you have a need for any accommodations that we can plan for in advance; including special needs, severe allergies, and/or making the space functional for those with physical limitations, etc. Our goal is to make our space open, safe, and inviting to all.

Cancellation Policy:

Please note that workshop registrations are not refundable. If you need to cancel, you must do so 7 days prior to the workshop in order to receive a POST credit for another workshop on our schedule. Space is limited and the classes are carefully planned to accommodate a certain number of attendees. Due to the cost of purchasing and preparing materials, we are unable to offer full refunds. Your spot may be transferred to a friend though - just call and let us know if someone will be taking your spot.

In the event of low registration, workshops may be cancelled by POST 2 days prior to the class. In the case of a cancellation, we will contact all participants with the option of rescheduling or a full refund.
