Hand Mending Denim: Visible + Decorative Repair Techniques on Saturday September 15

35.00

Hosted by POST + Elizabeth Royal

Saturday September 15th from 2 to 5pm

Gather up all of your favorite frayed, ripped, worn, and snagged denim jackets, jeans, and chambray shirts! You know those pieces that you've been meaning to mend? Now is your chance!

During this group workshop, you will learn visible mending and Sashiko/Boro techniques on denim and best practices for patching and repairing. We'll provide a variety of denim, linen, and vintage fabrics to chose from for patching and stabilizing.

Elizabeth will guide the group through various tools, materials, and solutions. She will offer help specific to the type of mend required. Everyone will try various stitches and learn how to choose techniques that will make a strong, long-lasting repair.

  • No experience necessary.

  • This class is open to ages 10+

  • Tools and fabric will be provided. Please bring your own clothing to mend and any preferred patching fabric you may have.

  • Refreshments will be served.
