Hand Mending Knits: Repair Techniques for Sweaters on Sunday September 30

35.00

Hosted by POST + Elizabeth Royal

Sunday September 30th from 2 to 5pm

Fall makes us want to pull out our favorite knitwear. Your favorite sweater, sock, or knit piece is always worth mending and using from year to year. Pull out any knits you may have and bring them on down to mend. During this group workshop, you will learn classic darning and reweaving techniques on knits. You'll have a variety of yarn and thread to chose from for darning and stabilizing.

Elizabeth will guide the group through various tools, materials, and solutions. She will offer help specific to the type of mend required. Everyone will try various stitches and learn how to choose techniques that will make a strong, long-lasting repair.

  • No experience necessary.

  • This class is open to ages 10+

  • Tools and fabric will be provided. Please bring your own clothing to mend and any preferred patching fabric you may have.

  • Refreshments will be served.
