Introduction to Woodworking: Colorful Candle Holders on Sunday November 4

45.00

Hosted by Clare Fox + Wayne Maki, from Mutual Adoration.

Sunday November 4th from 1 to 4pm

Learn basic woodworking skills while creating a functional and beautiful candle holder. This class offers a general overview of wood crafting while we share some fun, creative times with friends and community!

During this make & take workshop, Clare and Wayne will walk you through a project using reclaimed wood. We will plan the projects, select the wood and then cut, sand, drill, paint, stain, and finish wooden planks to create tea light candle holders.

You will leave with your choice of individual blocks or a single long board made to hold 5 candles. These make great centerpieces on a dining table or sitting atop a mantle.

  • No experience necessary.

  • This class is open to ages 14+

  • All materials are provided.

  • Refreshments will be served.

About the instructors:

Clare Fox and Wayne Maki founded Mutual Adoration in 2013. Their furniture, frames, and housewares combine contemporary design and traditional craft. Clare’s background as a sculptor, printmaker, and design instructor drives their use color and collaborative nature. Wayne’s experience as a professional photographer combined with his technical talents inspire the precision and foundation of their small batch production. In 2017, they opened POST as home base for Mutual Adoration along with the retail shop and workshop space.
